In Jun of 2025, I purchased a used 2022 AWD XLE with 52k miles that had been very well maintained per Carfax records. With that said, I have never received better than 28 mpg -- that's flat terrain, unloaded, city & local interstate driving, and actively trying to get the best gas mileage possible. My normal interstate driving typically gets only about 24-25 mpg. My tires are inflated as recommended at 35 psi, wheels are aligned & rotated, 12v battery new.
Yesterday it went in for its 65K mile service, explained the above issue, & paid for a diagnostic of the battery. They basically did a generic look at the error codes & test drove it -- coming back saying nothing's wrong. Quite irritated!
How can I figure out what is going on? I've read about the Toyota Techstream software to diagnose the hybrid battery but can't seem to find any local service center that uses it. I've also read about the Hybrid Assistant app, which seems to be a decent tool. Anyone with personal experience?
