Issues after battery swap

Hoping someone here has run into something similar before. I've got a 2008 Sienna LE, and after the original battery finally gave out last week, I dropped in a brand new one. The van starts up fine now but immediately after the swap, warning lights have been going up and to make things worse and the shifter is completely locked in park so I have to use the manual override just to get it into gear.
I didn't install the battery myself, my brother did it for me while I was at work. I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting it again, just in case it was some odd reset issue, but no luck.

What's weird is that everything was working fine before the battery died. The only thing that changed was the battery swap. Any ideas on what to do next please

i think you got a bad fuse, especially after a battery swap! have you checked the fuses in the box under the hood? particularly the ones related to the ABS, VSC, and the shift lock.. sometimes a power surge or a brief short during the swap can pop one of those little guys. if you find one that's blown, it's a cheap and easy fix. let us know what you find!

Try disconnecting the battery again and leaving it off for like 15-30 minutes to reset things. If that doesnt fix it, you'll probably need to scan for error codes or check fuses, sometimes the shift lock and warnings act up until the system resets properly.

Strange...since everything worked fine before the swap, have you checked if the new battery's voltage and terminals match the original specs exactly?

this comment is correct. OP needs to go to the fuse box under the hood. The fuses for the ABS, VSC, and the shift lock are your primary suspects. Look for a fuse that's visibly blackened or has a broken filament
