spare tire storage vs AWD vs ottoman

I'm thinking of buying a Toyota Sienna and I've been trying to read up about it. Is it true that not all models come with a storage for spare tire? I also read somewhere that if you can't have that space if you're picking one with AWD and ottoman? Is this specific to a model or does it also vary within the same year model and trim? Sorry if I have so many questions..

You're spot on, some Toyota Siennas skip the spare tire, especially the AWD versions with those comfy second-row ottoman seats. That combo means ditching the spare to keep the weight down. Usually, if you pick either AWD or ottomans, but not both, you still get a spare

I wondered the same thing when I was checking out Siennas, and the dealer told me about this trade-off. If a spare is a must for you, double-check the trims, or ask about spare tire kits you can buy later. They can cost a bit, though

So, what Sienna trim and features are you thinking about?

Your inquiries are perfectly reasonable. I've learned that Toyota varies things based on features, so it's important to pay close attention to the particular trim.

Honestly, it's wild that in 2025 a family minivan like the Sienna still doesn't guarantee a spare tire, especially with AWD and premium features, do manufacturers expect everyone to rely solely on roadside assistance now?
